8. Do you still work with the same coach?
DESPUES DE LA PELEA CON KOTELNIK ,DECIDIMOS CAMBIAR DE ENTRENADOR,Y CREO QUE HACERTAMOS,MI ANTERIOR ENTRENADOR FUÉ MUY BUENO PERO PARA ESA ETAPA,
COMENZÁMOS CON MIGUEL DIAZ ANTES DE LA PELEA CON VICTOR ORTIZ Y ESTOY MUY CONFORME,REALMENTE ES UNA PERSONA QUE TIENE GRAN EXPERIENCIA EN EL RINCON Y ME SIENTO MUY SEGURO CON ÉL AHORA
After the Kotelnik fight we decided working with another coach, and I think that was the right thing. My former coach was very good until that stage of my career. We started with Miguel Diaz before the fight vs. Victor Ortiz and I am very content. He has great experience in the corner and I do feel very safe with him.

The first Part of an interview with knockout-sensation Rene Marcos Maidana (27-1-0 (26)). "El chino" from Argentina is defending his WBA interim WBA world light welterweight titel on March 27 against number #2 ranked contender Victor Cayo at The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. In Part I of a big interview the Universum fighter speaks about his opponent, about a fight against Amir Khan and about preparation for his second big bout in the US. In Part II of the big interview tomorrow you will read how he thinks about a fight against Manny Pacquiao, his little son and his time in Germany.
1. How do you feel one week before your next big fight in the US?
Rene Marcos Maidana: ESTOY EN LA MEJOR PREPARACIÓN DE TODA MI CARRERA DE BOXEADOR,AHORA ESTOY EN 144 A 8 DÍAS DE LA PELEA,PERFECTO.
I have had the best preparation of my entire career. Now I am at 144 lbs, eight days before the fight, perfect.
2. How and were did you prepair for Cayo?
HACE 60 DÍAS QUE ESTOY PREPARÁNDOME Y HACE 35 DÍAS QUE ESTOY EN LAS VEGAS CONCENTRADO,CON LA ALIMENTACIÓN ESPECÍFICA.
I have started preparation 60 days ago and have been training for 35 days here in Las Vegas, focussing on the fight and holding a special diet.
3. How do you think about your opponent Victor Cayo? You know him well?
PUDE VER VARIOS VIDEOS,ES BUENO TECNICAMENTE,BUENAS PIERNAS,ES VELOZ,ESPERO QUE NO PUEDA RESISTIR MI POTENCIA Y SI NO ES ASÍ ESTOY PREPARADO PARA GANAR EN LAS TARJETAS.
I have watched several videos. He has a good technique, swift legs, very fast. I hope we will not be able to resist my power, and if he is, then I am prepared to win on points.
4. Are you angry, that Amir Khan didn´t want to fight you?
KHAN ,SABE QUE NO LE CONVIENE ENFRENTÁRME EN ESTOS MOMENTOS,ESO DEMUESTRA QUE ES INTELIGENTE,
YO QUERÍA UNIFICAR AHORA MISMO,PERO MARIO MARGOSSIAN ME ACONSEJÓ Y EXPLICÓ QUE NOS CONVIENE HACER 2 PELEAS EN USA ANTES DE UNIFICAR LA CORONA,SERÁ UNA PELEA MUY IMPORTANTE.
You know, Khan wouldn't like to face me at the moment. This shows his intelligence. I would have liked to make a unification fight right now, but my Manager Mario Margossian advised me that it would be better to make two fights in the US before the unification, which will be a very important fight.
5. Would you even beat Khan? How do you think about him?
PUDE VER VARIOS VIDEOS DE KHAN ,LO CONOZCO BIEN,NO PODRÁ RESISTIR MI ATAQUE Y ESTOY SEGURO QUE VOY A GANAR POR KO.
I have watched various tapes of Khan's fights and thus know him quite well. He will not be able to resist my attacks. I am sure that I am going to win by KO.
6. How do you think about your defeat against Kotelnik one year ago?
FUÉ UNA PELEA MUY PAREJA,CREO QUE MERECÍ GANAR POR UNA PEQUEÑA DIFERENCIA ,PERO LOS JUECES NO LA VIERON ASÍ.
ESA DERROTA ME DOLIÓ MUCHO PERO ME SIRVIÓ PARA CRECER ,ME HICE MUCHAS CRÍTICAS Y TRATÉ DE MEJORAR EN TODO Y SIGO TRATANDO DE CRECER.
This was a very balanced fight. I think I would have deserved a very close win, but the judges did not see it that way. This defeat really hurt me, but helped me develop, I scrutinized myself and tried to advance in every way, and this is what I continue to do.

Vitali Tajbert (19-1, 16 K.o.'s) reached the peak of his career today. The well-respect World Boxing Council (WBC), Mexico, issued an official statement to Universum Box-Promotion to declare Vitali Tajbert, from Stuttgart, Germany, their undisputed world champion at the super featherweight limit of 130 pounds/58.967 kilogram. On November 11, 2009 Tajbert defeated Humberto Gutierrez in Kiel, Germany, to claim the interim-version of the WBC belt. At that time, regular WBC titleholder Humberto Soto was already planning to relinquish his super featherweight belt and challenge for the WBC crown at lightweight.
José Sulaiman, president of the WBC, wrote: "Reigning champion Humberto Soto was ordered to meet Tajbert but he requested WBC permission to remain as super featherweight champion until he climbed into the ring to fight for the WBC lightweight championship, which he won this past Saturday night at the Cowboys stadium in Dallas, Texas. Soto is now the WBC lightweight champion and in strict adherence to the WBC Rules and Regulations, Vitali Tajbert becomes the undisputed super featherweight champion of the world. We wish Vitali a successful career."
Vitali Tajbert, the last German to win an Olympic boxing medal (bronze in 2004), was presented his WBC certificate today by Universum Managing Director Stefan Braune. Tajbert: "I am really excited about this. I worked so long to archive my dream. Now it became true. Finally, I am the undisputed champion. I will not need to explain what an interim champion is anymore. I truly thank the WBC and my promoter. I want to be a good world champion who delivers exciting fights. My next title defense might happen in May."
Coach Magomed Schaburow said: "I am very happy for Vitali. He truly deserves this recognition. We have been working together since 1999; this is a dream-come-true for me as well. Sadly, the real hard work will start just now."
VITALY TAJBERT NOW UNDISPUTED WBC SUPER FEATHERWEIGHT WORLD CHAMPION
The World Boxing Council today is officially appointing Vitaly Tajbert of Germany as the undisputed WBC super featherweight world champion.
Tajbert won the WBC interim super featherweight championship by defeating Humberto Gutierrez of Mexico last November 11.
Humberto Soto was ordered to meet interim champion Tajbert, but requested the WBC's permission to remain super featherweight champion until he climbed into the ring to fight for the WBC lightweight world championship, which he won last Saturday night at Cowboys Stadium in Dallas, Texas.
Humberto Soto is now the WBC lightweight champion and in strict adherence to the WBC Rules and Regulations, Tajbert becomes the undisputed super featherweight champion of the world. We wish him the best of luck in his career.
